5:21 What does volume do if compressor is disabled in the preset? It shouldn't matter whether compressor is pre or post if it is bypassed, right? Similarly, what do the ALT params NG, compressor and reverb do on the pedal if the corresponding block is disabled in the preset?

I'm pretty sure Jason has mentioned before to put a Loop Block at the front of the Signal Chain, before the Amp and Cab. Record a short loop in it that represents the kind of thing you want to dial in. Then while the loop is playing, scroll through the different Mics to evaluate how they sound and adjust their Parameters to see if they will give you what you want. This will make sure your attention is undivided and you're really using your ears. This technique works with with other types of Blocks, and their Parameters.

Thank you! Since moving on from the Helix, I was sad to lose your input on my modeler of choice. Now.... you are back!! Awesome! It is great to add a less metal voiced opinion to the QC YT community, alongside Steve Starlucci. Not everyone is looking for 80 flavors of crushing metal chug. Good for those who are, but for the others who only need that on occasion, more classic tones and approaches are welcome. Anyways... welcome!

I just watched your video about the input setting and it was not "very in depth as you say". All we learned was that you set it to 12 and dial it back to - 3 because you like it. Maybe I watched the wrong one?

So what did we learn? To set it to 12 and back it of to - 3 because that's where you like to have it? Why?

One issue I'd like to learn more about is getting levels right. My captures are loud in comparison to default ones. I just dial it back in the preset when using it but wondering if perhaps I need a lesson on this, hint hint.

Finally. I love my quad cortex !!!!

It does sound really nice. Love how well it does edge of breakup. If i was looking for another modeller it would probably be this , ive never heard them sound bad. Great stuff Jase, enjoy your new toy lol

A good idea for a video for you that I havent seen done well is a video on how to create tracks with DI and reamping utilizing the QC.

What about the widely spread trim in of 8.5? Any specific reason to go the other route?

My guitar, upon hit a 1st pos.E chord, is -7dbfs. I will check all captures on this which SHOULD be “0” on pedal input trim. Problem is 3rd party capture makers have NO standard while some have little to no concept of gain staging at all. IK have also not considered all practical aspects either; CLEARLY. This “wild west” mess is beneath any reputable company in 2024.

until there is a standard for gain staging while creating these captures so that every capture represents the actual level of a guitar at zero trim input, I’m not buying this. For all of the research and development I came multimedia has put in, they need to account for this, and have a stamp of approval for creating captures.

When you made the Liquid profile did you have the amps gain on 10?

As a new TONEX and modeling user, I have a lot of questions, I came here more just looking to see what each knob did as I know the controls under different names (attack, decay… etc) And found a great video. You’re my go to for all things TONEX. Loving the JS tones! Keep them coming man. I certainly will be grabbing some as I get a little better versed in this new world. As a long time Tube head player, I’m just blown away by this tech. I never would have believed this day was coming in my lifetime. What an exciting time for us.

Hi Jason, when running tonex in the loop of helix - can I compensate for different input trim requirements between my guitars (have two with very different pickup outputs) by just changing the send level on the helix loop instead of changing input trim on the tonex every time?

Hey man. I’m having a hard time with the audio when I’m using the software. I’m using the new tone x one and I have my Frfr speaker for my audio out. But everything just sounds really bad. Could you go over how to set up the audio in and out? I’ve never encountered trees this before.

Or turn up or down the guitar or whatever your first pedal is on your board (mine is a compressor) which I'm going to want to adjust to the output of the guitar anyway, When switching guitars

hi jason i have the full tonex pedal but only use 2 captures looking to get the tonex one as its smaller for my board is the software the same

Hey awesome stuff! And I love your captures! I have a question. To make a really good sounding ultra portable rig.... Is there an affordable, high quality ambience/delay pedal you can recommend pairing with the Tonex one, like a small little paddle board with a couple analog pedals... A Tonex one.... And then something for reverbs... delays... Maybe a few more effects... High quality. But nothing overkill.... No useless cabs and multitudes of crappie effects... Something that ideally isn't more expensive than the Tonex one. Thoughts? I guess It actually already has a reverb built in... It's probably not very versatile though is it? Just like one hall reverb or something like that? Is it a good though?
